So My Journey Begins | Training Institute TFI Pune | Diary of a Teach For India Fellow | My TFI Journey | My TFI Ahmedabad experience | Building Student Leaders | Design For Change

After going through a rigorous training at the Institute in Pune, I felt as if nothing is beyond my reach and that I can make the impossible possible. I not only survived the intense tasks at the Institute but also got good at them as I came out with flying colors and a new found self confidence. I really surprised myself by the intense passion and grit that I displayed during the institute. I became a different person altogether, someone I always wanted to become- a person who knows his purpose and also works relentlessly towards it. I started to believe in the power of purpose and commitment and deeply understood the 'why' of what I do. I taught in a summer school in Pune for four weeks. There I met my very first children whom I taught for the very first time in my life. In the process, I think I learnt more from them than they learned from me. I learnt how to have a smile on my face and stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult of times. I learnt how to forgive and forget and start each day afresh without carrying the baggage from the previous day. I learnt how to trust, how to love unconditionally, how to form deepest of bonds in so less time and how to be vulnerable and just pour out your feelings and emotions when you cannot bear it any longer. I learnt this and much much more from my brilliant kids in Pune.
After the 5 week institute, I hopped to the peace loving city of Ahmedabad where I am presently placed. I will be living here for the next 2 years until I fulfill my commitment to ed-equity in India. I am here to create an impact, to make a difference and to have a sustainable change in the educational landscape of my school and city.
I had a long day today and tomorrow isn't going to be any different. It's better if I stop now and go to sleep. I need to be in the best state of mind so that I can give to my kids an excellent education that they truly deserve.
