Choosing to live
When a mother decides to live...
In the dark
and gloomy chambers of a decrepit house,
Lived a lady
in tormenting fear and despair
Her
innocence forbidden her to rebel and grouse,
Against the
animal so wild and unfair
An epitome
of forgiveness and peace,
She was a
selfless and caring mother
Angels were
pretty; alas the animal never cared to bother
A more
sinister recipe was perhaps brewing in his fiendish pressure cooker
That night was
going to be long and dark
Sun ran to
the west leaving the dark chambers darker than ever
A strange
stillness presaged an extinguished lamp forever
as the
animal began to give shape to his plan in most diabolical manner
It did
something inconceivable to human race
Its
impeccably planned act left them with no time to brace
Horribly
woken from her nightmarish dream, she drowned in liquid fire
It dissolved
her eyes and ears – both – as she shielded her angels from the acidic ire
At first it
tasted acerbic, then there was no taste at all!
Perhaps her
tongue had gone too, making it difficult to shout and call
She could
only moan and wail sans any tears
Either her
glands had failed or the acidic heat prevented them to appear
She was
writhing in deep agony and deadly pain
beyond
worldly imagination and empathy that man can attain
Just when
death seemed to be the final solution
She felt
some movement and her will gained traction
She had to
fight and live, not for herself,
but for
those little lives who called her mother
After a long
time which felt like eternity, Sun once again rose up from the dead
Help had
arrived and the new family was ready to embrace life and move ahead.
